SWAT Swimmers Named to SES All-Star Team
The Southeastern Swimming All-Star Team has been named for the 2008-2009 long course season and six team members from the Southern Waters Aquatic Team (SWAT) were among those selected. The team is selected based on individual times from September 1, 2008 - August 31, 2009. Swimmers may qualify automatically as an Individual Event Champion at the SES Long Course Championships or with a top five time ranking in any individual event in which there is a SES record. Additional selections are made from the top five IMXtreme Program scores in the 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 age groups.
SWAT swimmers and their qualifying standards include: eight and under, Katie Cronin (8, Daphne) first in 50 freestyle, backstroke, first in 100 freestyle, fourth in 50 breaststroke, third in 50 butterfly; Emily Feldvoss (8, Daphne), fifth in 50 backstroke; and Sydney Johnson (9, Fairhope), fifth in 50 freestyle, fourth in 100 freestyle. Among the 13-14 age division Olivia Hudson (14, Fairhope) and Hannah Legg (14, Fairhope) qualified through their IMXtreme Program scores, and Stephen Jellenc (14, Montrose) was second in 200 breastroke and fifth in 400 individual medley.
Head Coach Rich Suhs stated, “I’m very proud of our All-Star Team. They’ve worked very hard to achieve this goal.”
